On the colonial forces side of the bridge over the Concord River is Daniel Chester French's first important statue: The Minute Man. This image also adorns the reverse of the 2000 US Quarter Dollar. French later sculpted the "Seated Lincoln" for the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC.

It's pretty hard to make a good image of a statue or sculpture because there's mostly a lack of contrast between the subject matter and its background. To me you've resolved that problem perfectly Don. The result is a very good image!

Well, I'd say that Mr. French did a fine job on both counts. And I'd say that you did a fine job in presenting him to us on this very fine day with those gorgeous clouds offsetting him in the distance.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Where do you live? It seems you have great access to many of our nation's historic areas.
I like this pic too.
