A young hibiscus appeared to yawn and stretch following its winter nap today. The background is simply a sheet of typing paper I used to obscure a distracting glint of sunlight that was stealing the scene. In the shade, it picked up a little color from the sky.

Enjoy.

Don, seems on the one hand to be a simple (but beautiful) image, but shows on the other hand the complexity of nature and life. Very good work!

You Texans have an early spring, depending on what part of Texas you live in. Some of you don't even have a winter, do ya? DFW isn't as cold as it is here in Ohio, but I have heard of ice storms down there. Nice shot of the leaf coming into bloom, and the buds that will follow soon.

This is just plain excellent work Don. I really like everything about it. Gets a 10 from me and a Blue Ribbon Rozette too!

Very interesting way to frame it. Somewhat unconventional.
I love it.

So, it begins. You are so fortunate. We had several inches of snow fall throughout the night. I love the simplicity of your post and the wonderful purple color of the background.

I'm here because I am behind and I saw this in the voting booth and loved it and had to see who was taking such great spring pics!!!!!!!!

This is delightfully taken, clear and crisp!
