The Tyne Bridge is a bridge over the River Tyne in North East England, linking Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Gateshead. It was designed by the engineering firm Mott, Hay and Anderson, who later designed the Forth Road Bridge, and was built by Dorman Long and Co. of Middlesbrough at a cost of £1.2m. It was officially opened on 10 October 1928 by King George V. It is a fine example of a compression arch suspended-deck bridge.

It's great to see New Catle-upon-Tyne back this way Don. Crossed one of the three bridges (the smallest) on my way from my ship to the city centre at the right side of the Tyne (and of course on my way back, lol).
Great post with very good details. Thanks a lot for posting it.

Looks great looking off into the distance!

It is the clarity of this photo that strikes you first. Everything seems to shine here. Well done, Don.

One thing I've always remembered from the UK are the beautiful bridges. Mostly the small ones that cross over the River Thames.
But wow, this one is for sure a beauty. But more than anything, I love the vantage point you had here, and the way you shot the bridge in front of a most pretty sky. Love those little clouds. I guess there's a reason God made clouds in such gorgeous contrasts to the sky colours. This is a very nice scene Don..thank you so much. Verena

A grand collection of classic engineering structures you've captured here Don. I've still to see the Forth Bridge but I understand it's excellent, that bridge is constantly repainted !!
Thanx again 4 sharing

This is a lovely capture of this bridge. I think we take for granted the engineering skills which have gone into structures such as this. So it is nice to stop and look and appreciate those skills. Well done!
