He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom i trust". Psalm 91: 1 and 2
What a difference (!) Don, the only 'wild animals', we have in our garden are some frogs, butterflies, bumble bees and birds, and from time to time the cat of our neighbours, lol.
Agree with Raj, this image is sufficient to give me shivers. Well done (?, lol again).

Oh Don...it gives me the creeps! I can't say that I like serpents...this one, in particular, looks very vicious. Was it really in your yard/garden/barn or something? If so, heed my advice Don and get some pest control company clean the house of the menace especially for young children's sake...you know they're the most vulnerable. As per an adjective for this shot, I'd use only "brave"!
In the UK we have only one poisonous Snake and that's the Adder mostly found on the heather clad moors.lethal to people that suffer from heart problems and the like,Bring on the Mongoose..Richie.
Living in Texas I imagine you must expect this kind of thing, I hope it wasn't destroyed.
People keep snakes in cramped vivariums in Europe. :o( but hey they could be part of the family where you live. Lol
