Yes the blue heron came back but this time it is to fish. The last time I saw him here people were fishing and feeding him. This time there is no one here so he has to do his own fishing. Shortly after this shot he got one. Hope you guys like it

Don This is a great shot. SO much detail shows up in the colors and the main subject. Very nice and I'm glad he caught one. You sure did!!

Without our natural landscapes and animals this country would be boring. Let's try to help to preserve such treasures.

the detail and sharpness in this photo are exemplorary
i wonder if it could be cropped slightly more tightly to give a different mood or more of a portrait effect at the moment im not sure what im getting from the image _story_ wise

never the less its a blisteringly good photo

It's really well done, Don! What terrific focus on his eye and the whole scene is so well lit. I'd enjoy seeing a slightly different composition, if you have some left over from the original? Less on the right and more on the left? In any case, this is very nice! - Patty

A wonderful capture Don & magnificent clarity. Blue herons are beautiful birds & this one looks like it is keeping it's eye out for some fish. Very well done.

Excellent capture Don. He looks as though he knows the right place to catch some fish. Very pretty how you've captured him standing at the water softly cascading. Very nicely done.

Good heavens to mergatroy, how did I miss this one? Wow! Fantastic. Would ya look at that eye. Super sharp all over. Even the setting is gorgeously rendered.. The feathers on that bird are clear as crystal. I hate to say this, but even his butt (plumage) is.....is.....
(hum).......striking. This is a keeper.
