This picture was taken in late June of 2005. It was a very hot day. As you can see, many people were looking for relief from the heat. By the way, the colored lettering on the Eiffel tower says "Paris 2012". London was selected about three weeks later.

Very nice shot but it seems a sacrilage to have cut off the top of the tower. That is the focal point of the picture. Even if that was not intended the sun made sure it would be.

The intended central point of the image seems to be something between the camera and the base of the Eiffel Tower, but with the foreground split between shade and bright light, the eye is directed to the tower. Unfortunately that is cut off.

I like the contrast between the sunlight and the shade. The tower looks so majestic standing there, but I agree with Jerry, pity it's cut off. Was that your intension? Did you only wanted to capture those people trying to escape from the heat? Overall a great composition with awsome clarity. Would love to see more of those area. Specially the fountain/water feature or is it a swimming pool? Looks really nice. Thanx for sharing
