Nice shot of this timber carrier Tanju. I have had logs on deck up to 9 meters high. It is not a nice feeling when you get into rough weather with that kind of load. Thanks for sharing this.
The container versions of these things sail into New York Harbor fully loaded en route to the Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Hudson/North Jersey docks on a daily basis, and all that, my friend, is just merely "small potatoes" compared to the volume that comes in via the West Coast ports...Sometimes, when I'm with my sister in her car, we see them going under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and she says, "There goes more American jobs, down the toilet!"
