A bald eagle we came across hunting at cannonsville res. I was lucky to get this shot I think it was the one bit of sunshine we had all day :)

Excellent capture of this beautiful, regal bird. I don't know where you are located, but they are plentiful here in Wisconsin, but can be hard to catch with the camera. They really do love to hunt over the rivers here too!

Spend a few minutes each day being grateful for what you have and who you have to share it with.

I love Bald Eagles, Holly and this is a beauty.
We see them mostly around Lake Michigan and along The Kankakee River in Northwest Indiana. Like Joanie I also like the water reflection . Great shot of this regal and majestic being .

Glad you guys like. It is harder to see our eagles in the summer there is so much open water for them to hunt. Winter is when hubby and I really go out looking for them we know the hot spots (any spot with some open water) We did not have eagles here for many years. DEC brought some eagles over from alaska about 20 years ago and now our population is really beginning to pop :)

Love the composition - the twig in soft focus leading to the majestic bird and then the small ripple just behind - could not have worked any better. Especially impressed with the simple colors in the water providing the perfect background as the reflections diminish to enhance the bird.

my best images happen by accident. there is so much to be seen in the minutiae surrounding us that we often miss the very best.

Holly - I have not seen many in their natural environment. They are always impressive when I do see them. Terrific capture. Thad
