The White Pass Railway, now a tourist train, was originally built in 1898 to transport miners from Skagway Alaska to the the goldfields.I took this photo in 2007. I was in a second train and managed to get this shot of the train ahead as we rounded a bend.

When a cliff can turn a "powerful locomotive" into a mere toy, in terms of scale, that's impressive. Maybe it's just the perspective you've chosen but from here, this looks like the kind of trip you'd want bring an extra pair of skivvies on.

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

Nice going getting such a sharp focus from a jiggly train! This contrast between the mountain of nature and the puny-looking train of man is wonderful....especially as we tend to think of a train as the most powerful engine we can get close to. This looks great on my desktop... I like desktops without a lot of clutter, but with elements of interest.

Breath-takingly beautiful! I like how you got the most colorful rail cars in the center of the picture, they really set off the natural colors of the rest of the photo. Very nice, and is now my home computer's wallpaper!

Wow this is great Frank. I saw it in featured images and am totally impressed. It does look like a toy against that massive mountain. I can only imagine what the track builders endured to make that trip possible.
Good post.
