HMAS Castlemaine is one of the sixty Australian-built Bathurst Class corvettes to serve throughout World War II, and is the last such vessel still afloat, having been restored by volunteers over four decades. Visitors can see how crews lived and worked during the war years, witness the original main engines turning over, and view a wide range of artefacts documenting Australian maritime history. HMAS Castlemaine is located at Gem Pier in the heart of Williamstown Victoria close to the shipyard where she was built in 1941.

Would see HMAS 'Castlemaine' in person, Frank, but the distance to 'Down Under' is 'somewhat' (☺) too far for me. To see the original main engines, would have my primary attention.
Very fine capture however. Thanks for providing it with us!

You get a new camera or something other (pc monitor? maybe?.. change of editing software? possibly?), Frank?

Looking at your last two uploads.. something is different. And by different, I mean.. good good.

Just curious.

Nice shot.

And, but, of course..

Thanks for sharing this one with us.

You've chosen an excellent vantage point here and if it wasn't for the anchorage cable I'd swear the Aussie warship was coming straight for the photographer.

Great to see the restoration job that took 40 years, boy that seems like a long time! Thanks for sharing this fine image Frank.

Progress equals a trashed planet since mankind is too busy altering it. BTW find the classic definition of Caedes here. Enjoy yourself today (o: because you don't know what tomorrow may bring.

That is one impressive looking vessel, and I agree with Les, I do see a difference in your postings, and I think it's an improvement. I think I see a difference in the coloring in your imagery. tigs=^..^=
