..remember the tiny little cottages with the pump outside - well you can see them towards the right of this little thatched roof cottage. This photograph was taken on Saturday at the end of my hike along a bridle path at the back of the airport, over fields and through woods arriving in the little village of Styal in Cheshire. ps the Ship Inn is just around the corner! :) :)

I gotta wonder how these thatched roofs hold up and keep the water out? Apparently they do. I don't think you could find one over here so it's nice to see you post one. Good angle of the home. I would love to see inside.

They are just simply adorable - almost like stepping into a fairy tale looking at these. Beautiful capture Patti. Are you going to treat us with a photo of the Inn? Looking forward to it :)

I'm a sucker for these type houses and you got me with this image. The shadows do wonders to that bright white cottage. Very nicely composed. Really a lovely image.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

Romantic and reminiscnt of more bucolic/laconic times..love the simplicity and as you know, in Northen France we have many buidings with these roofs.mostly on farms........well done!

A very nice shot. We don't see anything like that here. End of the hike eh? How many pints was that?
