I often see these guys flitting through the ravine, but being a low lying area the light is often a challenge.

This image is a fine capture of these cheerful birds.

[Alberta eh? You could have dropped by for a pint and a pie? ]

Wow this is one stunning photography, the detail the colour and focus 100%.You don't get pictures like this in the bird books. If this was in a bird book you could identify the bird with out any doubt .Well done to a great shot.Plus love the layout and frame.

Great use of blur Garret. It really adds dof and makes the colors on the beautiful little guy jump off the page.

This must have been a very challenging shot Garrett. It looks like it doesn't sit still for very long. The background does make the bird pop.
Good post.

Wow Garrett..this is one great capture! I love the colors here, you achieved great clarity, the image is high quality and spot on composition!
I think these birds are gorgeous and the way your feathered friend is displaying his/her 'colors' is quite attractive (or handsome :)
Great DOF as well!

This goes to my favorites.

I love this little fellow's black mask with a thin outline of white and subtle colour tones! Then, there is the hint of red and yellow on it's wing and tail... Wow! Superb details, colours and DOF, as usual, Garrett!! Saved + faved.
