I titled this as an Elusive Buck because I am seeing Deer pretty well everday on my excursions through this bush but have not seen a Buck for over a month since mating season finished. Last Saturday I took my dog Hanna for early morning walk in bush and seen some Does so tied hanna to tree and tried to get pictures but Hanna seen them and her barking spooked them so I brought Hanna back to my Van and went back myself and found them but they were still spooked. So I ended up chasing them for about an hour through bush and got back to area I had never been before and this Buck turned up.

I was just going to say what Patty said about him coming to check on the commontion and see if anyone was in danger. I guess when he saw you, he figured you were harmless! lol I was hoping to see deer at the brook, but they must come early or late when I'm not there. So, much truth to being the early bird and catching the worm. He's lovely, Gerry!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

What a handsome fellow he is too, and here again you've captured that bluish tinge on the snow that looks so good and is a lovely contrast to the browns in the upload...excellent work and if you have more I'm certainly not tired of seeing these babies .

A Mexican Standoff;o) I'll bet as soon as you moved the camera he was off. You can see the tension in every fibre of his being - yet inquisitive at the same time. Torn between the two! Great capture Gerry.
Cheers,
Steve.
