Last week one morning just as I entered the bush TWO red Foxes crossed my path. I seen them twice again but not able to get a picture. That evening I did some reseach on Red Foxes and found out that they are courting right now in preperation for mating and am sure is what these two were doing. The next day came across them again and got this shot. It is not the best picture but now that I know they are around should be able to get better shots. I am 99% sure I found one of their dens.

I think it is very good Gerry!! I often see foxes at the bottom of my garden but they always disappear before I have a chance to photograph them! this is very clear and he is intent on his business by the looks of it! ;)

Ah, he's nice, Gerry! I would love to catch sight of one of these guys. Maybe I'll take a walk in the woods. The kids told me they saw one sitting in a clearing this fall, maybe if they're about, I can catch one! Nice full frame of him you caught too.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

How wonderful to see them in their natural element.I do wonder as to his gait as hind right paw looks bent to ground while Left hind is up.........this is not their normal gait........anyway, thanks for this .excellent

Great capture of this fox Gerry, you must have a good hiding place. Can't wait for your next one. Be careful out there.

And back to our wildlife reporter... I suppose you must be very quiet and patient to get these photos. Since you have found their private place I believe you'll be able to get back to take some better shots. Looking forward to it.

Nope! Not good enough ... If it were mine I'd be wild with excitement ... but I've seen what you can do when you're on the hunt and have the smell of victory within sight. The deer series proved that to me. So I'm going out on a limb here and saying this excellent shot for the average Joe is just OK ... and betting we are in for one hell of Fox image in the very near future ... Go get 'em Gerry, but for God Sakes don't interupt a romantic moment ... don't want you in bandages. :o).

Un huh! Your little fox done good, didn't it? You kind of knocked it a little bit but I thought it was a great catch and it appears others did also. Nice work.

Gotta say, I'm with Muggsy on this one. while you might be holding out for something better, this isn't bad and there's probably a few of us that would be happy just to have the opportunity to get this shot. Have you considered guiding?

I'd be well pleased to get a shot as good as this Gerry. Particularly the rich colours have been captured well. We have vixens calling to dog foxes at the moment around here - but they only move around at night...
Cheers,
Steve.

Hello Gerry,
I love these beautiful animals. Unfortunately they still get hunted by hounds here. Its a great action shot and should be in a wildlife magazine.
