These are now an endangered species, this migratory bird summers in the Russian Arctic Tundra, & winters in Eastern Europe where increased hunting, & changes in farming has had a severe impact. :o(

Their numbers have fallen by over 50% in the last 10 years, a recent survey indicates there are a mere 34,000 of them left !! Harassment, & starvation means that less survive the journey back to their breeding grounds in Russia. :o(

I love the way geese walk...as if they know exactly where they are going and are not going to put up with anyone trying to distract them or slow them down. You've captured that great stride perfectly...and your photograph does full justice to your beautiful subject.

what a good photo you present us!
Especially the low perspective makes this goose shot "great".

This is lovely Phil. This bird has really interesting markings and one I have not seen before. As usual you have caught this with good light, and the clarity and composition is spot on. Well done!

Ouch. That is dangerously close to a having a gene pool to small to avoid extinction. Such a beautiful creature, too. I think it knows its attractive. It carries itself almost like a beauty pageant contestant.

Ask your Congressmen and Senators why our existing wells aren't pumping more than 3 days a month? There a lot of unused capacity in existing wells.

What a looker. I imagine the Duke is thinking about starting a new breed. Now I know where the saying "fatter then a Christmas goose," came from Phlossie. Glad to see the voters were on their toes.
