Good day viewers say hello to a Sheila. :o) She's flown all the way over from Down Under !!

These birds enjoy the wetlands of Australia, but the combination of long term drought, man draining the marshes, & accidental / deliberate shooting of this protected species by hunters is taking it's toll on their numbers. This surreal looking Duck could shortly be joining the endangered species list. :o(

Well, Flossie, you've given us a fine view of the famous freckled fowl. I really enjoyed the link you sent with the information about him.

I'm glad I got here early, as I have to make dinner and I'm always at your posts for far too long if I'm late, making me even later. If you understood that, you should check into a clinic soon!

Awful news about that fire. I hope no one was hurt.

:(

Thanks for the comment PJ it's amazing she's a genuine Sheila from Down Under !! Don't be too late making dinner late, we must both be crazy cause your comment made perfect sense to me, however the clinic won't accept me any more. :o(

No one was lost or injured at the fatal Pier fire as it began very in the morning. It's a terrible shame what happened though as it's only just been renovated, & has always been a great attraction to WSM.

Big brother's watching you :o) A mistreated dog should try to leave a deposit on their masters best carpet, after all it's important to establish who's boss ... Welcome to the last resort. :o)

Hey Phil, I won't try to compete with P.J's comment. :)
But I sure do like the detail in Sheila. Great image of her and I'm very sorry to see the video of the fire. I'm glad no one was hurt. It is still a shame though. sandi♥

This is a lovely shot of this unusual duck. His beak reminds me of the Duck Billed Platypus for some reason! Great clarity and colour. Well done!

That looks like it is made out of stone. Might have a hard time flying off. LOL. Very nice shot again, Phil.

She does look a bit heavy Jimbob
It was a very sunny day, & I think she's a bit niffed because someone pinched all the clouds Lol.

Strewth, G'day Bruce, that's a fine looking Sheila. What an amazing coloured duck. The plumage is quite like a Guinea-Fowl's I think.

First inbred ducks and now freckled ones. I believe your ducks have been led astray. Great post Phlossie and it really does look freckled. It also reminds me of a guinea chicken. Love the link as well. Nice post.

Ask your Congressmen and Senators why our existing wells aren't pumping more than 3 days a month? There a lot of unused capacity in existing wells.

I love this shot, Phil, from the minute I saw it in the VB. He's such a pretty looking duck and I've never seen one like this. His background makes for nice contrast and the little flowers compliment his speckled look. I see he has been banded, so they must keep track of these guys.
