These very endangered birds don't migrate south for the winter, nor do they belong in South Gloucestershire but rather Hawaii instead !

Any conservationists wanna knit a lot of very small jumpers ? if so please contact the WWT Slimbridge. (o;

Oh by the way here's a special mention for Diane / marcaribe enjoy this one of hit from 1981 by The Passions, & thanks for the pm. (o: . :o)

Thanks for the comment Froggy

Yep it is a dark image but bear in mind it was close to sunset, & the low sun was casting very long shadows.
As for the ticket to Hawaii she'll be much safer here so if you care so much you'd better get knitting now ! lol
Cheers, & have a good weekend .. Uncle Phil

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Looks like a pigeongullduckgoose. No wonder it is so rare. Great capture Phlossie and it is sad to see the end of species. I am glad this is rebounding.

The nene goose is the Hawaiian state bird. It's ancestor is the Canada Goose, a common waterfowl of North America. The nene have adapted to the dry rocky terrain of the Hawaiian islands by decreasing the webbing on their feet.

Unlike many of the waterfowl that populated Hawaii before the arrival of humans, the nene retained their ability to fly, thus helping them evade predators once humans and their imported mammals settled on the islands. Today, one can find populations of nene on Maui at Haleakala National Park...you may find one but I never seen one on all my trips to Hawaii. In fact they have Nene Crossings and I would joke watch out for the "Nene"
