Glastonbury Abbey. was a sprawling collection of massive buildings designed especially for worship. It was also a place of shelter for the destitute, & dying in need of assistance.

I'll upload some more pix of the Abbey @ a later date. In the meantime enjoy this music link from the Fleet Foxes.

Talking about showing its age. I think the birds have been unkind to this along with the elements. I suspect it was a beauty in its day. Did any of the bombing during WWII cause this damage? Good post Phlossie.

When I first visited the Abbey I thought Henry the 8ths troops had demolished the place, but the simple fact is the locals quarried the site leaving it in the state you see it 2day.

Great lighting and textures in this one, Phil. Very nice. I never heard of the Fleet Foxes, but I love their harmonies. I am going to have to check out more of their stuff. Thanks.
