Regular visitors to my gallery will know the Nene / Hawaiian Goose is extremely rare in Hawaii but abundant at WWT wildlife sanctuaries across the UK.

However there is a problem to their future existence ! All these birds have been pinioned .. what's that you may say ? well all the Gosling have had their flight bones deliberately broken at a very early age to prevent flight.

UK law forbids the introduction of foreign species into the wild preventing them from escaping to freedom, & possible survival. Oh well mustn't grumble enjoy some Happiness from Goldfrapp instead. (o:

Ah, he is a beauty. Love his colors and the deep colored liquid reflections. AND the droplets still hanging on. Saved.

Who ever has the job of snapping the wings must be related to The Hangman. Nice post and makes one pause as to some of the reasoning of so called leaders.

They ought to rename them UK Geese. There is already a Hawaiian Punch, they don't have to name everything after that state. LOL. Very nice, Phil. I like the bit of brown/orange on it's head.

Breaking their bones seem cruel to me. Beautiful bird though. Great detail.
