I usually have a covey of quail come though the yard each morning and this is the Head Quail. Snagged him this morning as he was checking things out to bring the others in.

He looks very proud, almost likes he owns the place. Lol! Good one Ted!

What cool visitors to your yard! And what a wise leader he is. I would think that there would be very few locations where the covey would be safer or more appreciated than that of the yard of a world-class photographer.

Great capture of his pleasantly plump and proud physique and his beautiful coloration. I only wish that I could hear them! :)

Comparing your title with your image, made me smile, Ted.
Think the quail is aware of its 'high' position, ☺ .

Wow, great colours! Reminds me a little of the visitors we get once a while, wild Lorikeets that escaped from Busch Gardens years ago and have made residence in local neighbourhoods.
