On a steep hillside up behind the town is the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, in which one can find the grave of Wild Bill Hickcock, pictured here. Notice the walled grave behind. It's of one Martha Jane Burke, better known as Calamity Jane, whose last words were reported to be "Bury me next to Wild Bill." They were close. Obviously, they still are. Deadwood, South Dakota, USA.

I only knew Calamity Jane from the strip 'Lucky Luke', but see know that she (Martha Jane Cannary) really has lived and is buried now in Deadwood, Ted.

Very interesting and good capture. An 'eye opener' to me as well.
