The Hotel del Coronado (also known as The Del to local residents) is a beachfront luxury hotel in the city of Coronado, just across the San Diego Bay from San Diego, California. It is one of the oldest and largest all-wooden buildings in California and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977. When it opened in 1888, it was the largest resort hotel in the world and the first to use electrical lighting.

I am really missing my summer days spent walking along these beaches collecting sand dollars and sea shells.

An impressive looking and beautiful building complex very nicely captured. That brick red and white combination looks great.

Kimberly...

This is one of the best shots I've ever seen of the Coronado. My parents have lived in San Diego for 25 years now and take us to lunch at the restaurant at least once per visit. It almost makes it worthwhile traveling through L.A. to see them. Great capture of this wonderful spot.

This looks like one of those buildings they couldn't decide on when to stop adding on additions.
A beautiful old structure, Kimberly. Wonderful capture with lovely colours and composition. Thanks for sharing.

Think about the photo before and after, never during. The secret is to take your time. You mustn't go too fast. The subject must forget about you. Then, however, you must be very quick. Henri Cartier-Bresson
