Hey, Japio ! Thanks for sharing this wonderful image of the craftmanship of an old blacksmith Absolute a very nice atmosphere, and it reminds me of a long long time ago when I was a bit younger....lol ! Excellent work, my friend ! John
"If people destroy something replaceable made by mankind, they are called vandals; if they destroy something irreplaceable made by God, they are called developers." Joseph Wood Krutch (1893-1970)
Great comp, with the man at the top third, the anvil and hammer (THE blacksmith icon.) strong in the foreground third, excellent exposure and dynamic range so we get plenty of detail but it still feels naturally dark as it actually would have been and the glow of heat playing a large role in the overall impact. The 'smith does seem a bit soft but I assume the lighting conditions either made super accurate focussing a challenge or allowed a bit of subject movement to play a role, sometimes conditions don't allow us complete control. A great image captured in challenging conditions.
The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
