you can't see the water so i didn't put it into the shoreline category. the dunes are typical of many east coast beaches. being the ocean fanatic that i am, i have to climb every dune....big or little, to see what's on the other side.

Oh, the colors are sensational and you can see the rose hips along the path and definitely looks like a southern New England shoreline. Your angle on this is super!

Super pic, I love the perspective you got on this. Very nice. Did you put this in the sand category?

The composition is wonderfully interesting, Jen, and the colors are saturated very nicely. Add the perfect dof and it's a beauty of an image!

Terrific view with great depth and the sand just adds to it Jen. Beautiful color and composition and the wonder of what's just over the hill. Outstanding work.

Hi Jen That is a marvelous post. I was thumbing through my June 2005 Photographic magazine and came across a similar picture but not the same location. A picture that was photographed by Bob Gates at Philban Beach in Martha's Vineyard, MA. He strowed different colored sandles along the path and became the grand prize winner in whatever contest they had going. Yours has that kind of look to me also. Throw a few colored sandles on the path. What do you think?

What I like About This Composition: Love that sand and it's footprints. Love the little bits of red flowers peeping out from amoung the grasses here and there. Love the clear uphill perpsective. I keep climbing up it and disappearing around that corner along with you to see what's up there. Love that wooden fence in the curve.
Suggstions For Improvement: None
Conclusion: You said you have to climb every dune to see what is on the other side. Did you bother to look behind you? It appears you had half the world following.

Running to the Voting Booth hoping to see this image and give it 10/10 which is the least I can do now being completely struck with the little rosehips on the dune !!! LOL
Thanks as always, dear Jen.
I have missed more than I could ever possibly realise by being absent so long ...

I have saved this picture. I think it is exceptionally good and would have expected it to be even higher than its current index score. The sand just invites one to get to the top of the dune and see beyond and the whole picture is full of interest. I love the little fence, and the rose hips. In short - I just love it.
