This is but a small portion of the pagoda. Please read about this amazing site at Yangon, Burma. I'm including a link because there's just too much to be said about it. Thanks for any comment. Enjoy!....................................................http://www.sacred-destinations.com/burma/yangon-shwedagon-pagoda.htm

Dang! Gold? Where is this place? I'll be right there with a pick and chisel. Great perspective. I studied it for a long time.

Totally opulent and awesome, Jen. Must have been just as amazing inside too. Interesting legend surrounding its construction and reconstruction. I am putting your link HERE. Gold and white here as in the modern mosque in Abu Dhabi that Sayed just posted. I guess gold is only one letter different than God though I'm not sure that Buddhists actually believe in "A" god. Great shot of this amazing site.

The contrast between the white and the gold looks so rich (can't say it in another way)

Well done on the lighting :o)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . Jen - Brilliant colors - deep blue sky, bright white pedestals and lots of gold. Great angle for this shot. Thad

I almost did not think this was real! Very nice quality, but to me, I think that id be melting the gold and selling it, not just taking a picture! haha

Thank you Jen,
this one is on my desktop. I like this AND brings back some good memories of Thailand with similar Temples.
