On Saturday we attended the Pipeline Masters Surfing event in Oahu. It was totally awesome. Pipe is the 3rd jewel in the Triple Crown of Surfing. John John won the Triple Crown but not the Pipe. I liked this photo because of the waves and the lines he made in the water. Photographers at this event (several hundred) had the most fabulous lenses. I looked through one guy's lens which was an 800mm. Anyway I took this with a T2 with a dinky 70-300 lens. Ah to have a long lens. Thanks for any looks or comments. ENJOY!

You done fine with the lens you have...I have seen these picture takers with all these fancy lenses and they just have them for show..I have taken many wildlife shots alongside such lenses..They didn't get the shot and my cheap little lens did..It's the picture taker that matters most..Like I said..You done well Missy...R.

I like to agree to a certain extent with Richie. Of course good equipment can be helpful to make good images, but most important to me are someone's eyes in combination with good photographic skills. When one has only good equipment an image will be rubbish even with a 800 mm 'gun'.

Very good result with your 70-300mm, Jen!

Regards, Cornelius.

Any longer lens and you wouldn't be able to get the whole amazing scene in shot. Stunning shot.

I have a dinky 70-300 lens too, but in the right hands it can really come through, like with this image, which is superb.

I've been to the North Shore, but never got to see the competition. Excellent action shot and such gorgeous colours you've captured in the waves
