I feel fortunate to live in an area which has historic significance and was home to Alice Paul. I'm posting a picture of her house that I took in May of 2014. A group known as the Women on 20s has launched a campaign to place a woman on the $20 bill. Alice Paul is currently 1 of 15 candidates who could replace Andrew Jackson. Here is some additional information with regard to Alice Paul's house. Paulsdale, also known as the Alice Paul Institute, is the birthplace of equal rights advocate Alice Stokes Paul (1885-1977). The 200-year-old house currently resides on 6.5 acres in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Paulsdale serves as a center for celebrating women's history and leadership. The Alice Paul Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about the life and work of Alice Paul suffragist, author of the Equal Rights Amendment, founder of the National Woman's Party, and a lifelong activist for women's equality. Paulsdale was added to National Register of Historic Places on July 05, 1989 and designated National Historic landmark on December 4, 1991. What a great looking old house. I love that huge veranda. I have to admit though, that I had never heard of Alice Paul before...so thanks for the bit of history you provided. Excellent shot, Laura.

A porch perfect for a rocking chair and a glass of lemonade on a summer's day. Nice perspective on this grand home, Laura. I too never heard of Alice Paul or the Women on 20s campaign. Thanks for the background. Fantastico!

Very nice capture of this beautiful house Laura. Perfect shot with clear details. Germany is also backward in women's rights. Recently a law has been passed that big companies must have at least 30 % women in their board of directors. If they cannot find a suitable woman then that seat remains vacant!

A lovely historic home (although I don't think the color they've chosen on the top would be like the original. I love the veranda. You've captured it very well with this photograph Laura.

Put me on the side that was not aware of AP or the $20 bill campaign, Laura.
The house reminds me of what I think a boarding house would have looked like back in the day. I can see the porch full of Agatha Christie characters and a murder to be solved.
You killed this shot by the way.

Love this old Victorian Laura and I was vaguely aware of the $20 bill thing - a most interesting and informative narrative but it seems ridiculous at this time in history that we STILL have to fight for equal rights and equal pay.

I heard of the campaign weeks ago, but hadn't heard her name associated with it. A good capture of the house. Nice architectural details in the building and composition of the scene.
