Here is another Peony I found in the field during the Memorial Day holiday weekend. I love the pastel pink color and the way the petals are shaped. Hope you like it too - Enjoy and have a great weekend!!!! Here are a few interesting facts about peonies. - Peonies can grow to be 10 inches depending on the variety. - Peonies are the floral symbol of China, the state flower of Indiana. - They are regarded as a symbol of good fortune and a happy marriage. - They can live to be one hundred years old! - The peony comes in every color except blue. - Ants are attracted to peonies because of the nectar that forms on the outside of the flower buds. - In ancient times peonies were believed to relieve headaches and help with asthma.

A save and fave for me Laura - I've always loved peonies. I remember smelling them as a child - the fragrance would fill the living room when my mom cut a bunch - she still cuts bunches every June and her bushes are the old type like this one. Really gorgeous!!

No wonder peonies look damaged when I see them - must be the ants. Lovely shot with good lighting Laura.

Love the very subtle tones of this peony. The lighting and details are perfect too, so it's an excellent capture for Foofy Friday Laura.
Very well done!

A gorgeous bloom and bud of this peony Laura. I have always loved peonies and planted some in my flower beds, but they only bloomed once and have bloomed again for years. The green leaves are very healthy looking but no flowers appear.
