This is an image of the Chrysalis - Stage 3 in the Monarch Butterfly Cycle. I took this shot last Saturday, September 5 and estimate it to be approximately 10 days old - you can begin to see a faint outline of wings - the monarch is positioned in the chrysalis head down and within 10 to 14 days will emerge as a beautiful and majestic monarch butterfly. Enjoy!!!!!!

'Patience' is the keyword now, Laura.

Very interesting. Thanks my friend how you've visualized and described the stages.
Never had thought that at my age my education was improved, lol.

Saw these at a butterfly exhibit a few years ago - nature is more fascinating than most things on TV these days!

Another amazing close up and detail, really like the water droplets adding great texture. Our 6 yr old granddaughter came home from school knowing and letting us know what it was.

Do you live need a butterfly farm or where is this taken
