This is the eastern end of the castle, with stairs going up to the upper courtyards and outbuildings. As you can see there is not a pane of glass in any of the windows, as it was left to rot away. Hard to believe that this was a highly active place even in the late 70's. Most of the inside has collapsed, with not much accessible. Now that it has been bought, maybe something will be done with it. Another website showing it in its heydays is HERE

Lovely shot. Like person in photo because it gives you perspective on how immense this castle truly is. As you know, I took the tour you recommended. What a shame renovation never came to fruition.

I like this one too! I imagine her wearing a long flowing dress. Sad about the lack of upkeep you mentioned. It would be even more beautiful with colorful stained glass. I'll have to check out your link (which was thoughtful of you by the way)
