Beaumaris Gaol on the Isle of Anglesey is a victorian prison. It was built in 1829 by the same gentleman who created the hansom cabs. Its an excellent museum, and I always enjoy visiting there. You can find more info Here Or the spooky version seeing as we are so close to halloween BOO

Looks like the entrance to a dungeon. Wouldn't want to end up there. Nice picture.

I bet that's where the crazy guy in other post ended up. Looks like a place to stay out of. I too like the links. Very good post and very informative. The drab coloring fits the mood of the place. No Cell phones allowed.

Old gaols are wonderful aren't they? They are so grim and nasty. This looks great. I really like Beaumaris and I prefer the Straits side of Anglesey.

I like your presentation and the links were not only informative, but entertaining as well. There is an old jail in Concord, NH that's been turned into a Mexican Restaurant. When you are seated you are sitting in what used to be cells..creepy but in a sort of sadistic way...like worrying a loose tooth. :(
