Walking along the country lane to my house the other day, I heard some small sobbing sounds coming from the hedgerow. Parting the branches I spotted this little guy lying all folorn in the rain. He had been taken to live on the head of a girl three sleeps ago, and had such a good time. She had taken him to her christmas shopping, showing him off to all her friends proudly. They had gone to a carol concert in the local school where he saw many of his family. He felt really loved and happy. Then disaster struck! After an evening in a place called the pub, where his owner got a bit of a wobbly head, he began to slip from his proud post. Although he thought she loved him as much as he loved her, he was about to have his heart broken. Whilst she wobbled her way home in the windy night, poor ole Ant ( short for Antler Jr) found himself falling through the air and bouncing into the hedge, breaking his right side. Lying abandoned and in pain he could do nothing to help himself and so was left in the cold wet night. He had almost given up when I heard his whimpering sobs drift through the afternoon air. Carefully as I could I lifted his battered form and carried him home. He is now resting in a box in my kitchen where it is nice and warm. Hopefully he will be recovered by the big day. Just hope he doesnt do THIS
