I'm playing with high dynamic range methods. This particular one involves taking bracketed photos (at least 3) and feeding them into the photoshop merge into hdr function. Compare to the best effort shadow/highlight operation on the same single _best_ exposure shot [here]. I think youll agree theres a huge difference and wow how much detail you retain in the white flowers and the leaves. Interesting softening of textures. All together quite pleasing, I'll have to start doing a lot more of my photos using HDR (high dynamic range) techniques. Hope you like it

Hey Jeremi, It just so happens that I was searching for a Photoshop CS2 tutorial yesterday, and found the one you posted in your comment. Definately, good reading it was! I would have to agree that the flower bloom in this photo is much improved over your "single best exposure shot". However, in my opinion, the green/foliage in this image is a tad washed out, as was mentioned in the tutorial, is a result of the conversion. I don't see the natural gloss on the leaves. I wonder if a minor adjustment in the contrast settings in the final HDR conversion process would allow a better result. But, this is just my opinion, others may not think this about the image. I do wish you success in your experiment and look forward to more of these results in future posts from you. Thanks for the added education on the subject :)

I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band, I saw a needle that winked its eye. But I think I will have seen everything When I see an elephant fly. MY GALLERY
