Kristof, this is a great photo. I can see shadows in his eyes they are so close to me on the desktop. It's crystal clear and just magnificant. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Anita

Wow, you can't get any closer than this...I can even see a reflection of the surroundings in his eyes...beautiful job, Kristof, and a very handsome subject too.:Pat.
Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooa...is this ever cool. You ought to score big with this one. The temptation to have snapped the whole owl must have been great but capturing only the eyes was a great move. This is what "desktop captures" are all about. Beautiful.

Impossible to overlook this image in the gallery ... Beautiful Bird ... Fantastic eyes ... Spectacular photo ... Anyone with an interest in birds should have this wonderful image among their favorites ... I know I will for sure.
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

I am still extremely busy with projects but hopefully things should slow down by the end of the summer. Please know that I appreciate you all and will stop by and visit your images as often as I can. My best to all my friends.
Sincerely,
Carrie
This shot is about as perfect as it can possibly get Kristof!! I just gave is a more that well deserved '10' in the voting booth. It truly is outstanding! What a beautiful creature! Vicky

No Sig, Just, I want to say "Thank You" to all of the talented photographers for giving me the most beautiful desktops and screensavers I could ever imagine. The artistry here is breathtaking.
"....feel free to be critical...." lol, i love that statement. I perfect shot, and thats what u hve to say. nice pic btw....how did u tak this anyways? (without make the owl go byebye..and without him looking away?
I am WAY behind THANKING, viewing and commenting! My apologies! I care very much for everyone and will catch up asap! Thanks for all the nice comments on my work!
I know I am just one fish in this sea of comments, but I must tell you I am jealous of your photography! I simply do not understand how anyone could find an animal like this and take a photo of it without it flying off, or with perfect lighting. The "glowing" eyes really make the picture, kodo!!
Well, if I was to be critical I would say crackin good job. I know it's cruel of me to be so critical but one must be humbled on ocassion. I'm beside myelf with wonder on how you did this with such precision. Perhaps if I wander one day into the land of clicks and shutters I will understand. For now I will exist in my digital world (LOL).....................Amaris
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh...feel free to be critical???????? YOu have a 94 C index and you are asking for critical? I am truly laughing here!!! sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!! This photo is is more than amazing, it is MAGNIFICIENT....thats all I can say! Oh my gosh, how very gorgeous. How is it some people can get such fantastic pictures? and mine are ever so menial? Congrats from the deepest part of my heart to you. This is "owlsome" LOL...it should be the next cover of Life mag or some nature mag..for sure.My sweet man..whew...what kind of camera did you use for this lovely birdie?????..verena
You asked to be critical so here I go......It's dangerously close to being too darn perfect. Now I'll expect every owl shot to be this good and I'll surely be disappointed. Thanks a heap. : )
Nice shot, but perhaps a little over-sharpened? - Looking at detail around the eyes, seems a little fringed, but otherwise this is very, very nice, and a real eye-catcher
Awesome! I love the artist spotlight bits otherwise I'd miss things like this :)
Beautiful work! As per jma55's comments, there are a couple of bits that need some touchup, but photoshop takes care of that nicely. It still wouldn't be possible without an excellent source, though, so thumbs up mate!
