A first for me .. My first shot of a damselfly ..I have never seen one before to be able to photograph it. This was taken with a point and shoot camera .. I don't think it turned out too bad at all ..He was resting on the leaf ..Posing you might say for me .Comments appreciated as always.

What a cool shot. It looks like it's lighting on a piece of fur. Great color and subtle background. Very nice Ruby. Thanks for sharing it. Anita

That gorgeous thing could walk the runways in Milan with it's fine coloring! Love it! It looks super on that fuzzy leaf, and the blurred background really works well on the desktop. Nice job on tihs Ruby!

I dunno. God must have giggled with delight when he designed these things. Can't you just hear Him, "Oh, the kids will love this one" as he carefully dabbed on the last ring of blue with His paintbrush. Great capture.

Superb shot of a dragonfly. I rarely see one like this with the wings folded.

Only thing is, the background comes out sort of raggedy on my screen. Can you smooth it out?

He's a beauty, Ruby and the texture of that leaf is just great! This is a lovely photo and you did exceedingly well and your point and shoot camera did a terrific job too.

Wonderful photo, Ruby! A point and shoot, eh? Hmmm. That dispells the theory more expensive is better ... it must have something to do with the human behind it! :) - Patty

I hate to be the one to burst the bubble but there are two distinct ways to tell a damselfly from a dragonfly. 1) Dragonflies eyes touch and damselflies eyes are separated. 2) Dragonflies do not fold their wings but damselflies do. They are very similar in appearance but many people mistake one for the other. Sorry. Still a very nice photo.
