Thought I would revisit one of my old images and give it a new life. No filters this time. The most pictured lighthouse in New Brunswick is what is painted on a welcome rock for you to see on your way to take a picture of the gracious lighthouse. This lighthouse is on Campbello Island. Comments appreciated as always. Through your comments is how I grow and develop my skills as an artist

I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band, I saw a needle that winked its eye. But I think I will have seen everything When I see an elephant fly. MY GALLERY

This is really supberb, Ruby. Sometimes less is more and this is one of those examples. The sun-washed pastel sky contrast nicely with the rocks jutting into the water. Though dark, the shoreline has good detail and accentuates your bright subject which has beautiful highlights. Really an A+ image. anne :-)

Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)

I agree with colocolor. I noticed how dark the foreground was at first, but then realized that it just fit the mood of the total take and actually you captured the lighthouse with such good clarity that the foreground did not take away, but actually added. I love the little natural spolight effect that the sun painted on the lighthouse itself. It just makes it stand out as it should. I love this :)PJ

The light balance you struck here was good, Ruby. More light in on the darker foreground would have completely washed out the lighthouse. But a teensy bit of dodging the darker areas may give it a lift? I held a paper up on the screen to decrease the amount of sky and prefered less, bringing the lighthouse up close to the top. I don't know how much of the original image foreground you have but if there's more, that would be a good eye lead-in since there's no drama in the sky that day. It's a very pleasing setting. - Patty

I like the darkness of the foreground because it makes the lighthouse stand out. It's a great composition. I wondered how it would look with a little less sky, but then I thought, that the great expanse of sky along with the massive rocks add to the lonely, isolated feeling of this scene. It's a beautiful picture Ruby!

This is amazing Ruby. I went back to the other photo and this one just jumps out at me. The clarity and more vibrant color is very definite here (maybe it was a brighter day) but the whole scene is much more 'rich' looking. Very nicely done. Definitely a keeper on my system :) Thanks for sharing it.

Can't go wrong with oceans and lighthouses. I love them. Wouldn't it be neat to live in one? I guess some people do. Nice capture, Ruby.
No need to thank me for viewing your work. Some of us are trying to put an end to this time consuming thankyou activity.

Ruby; There seems to be a debate about the loss of detail with the rocks and trees in the foreground. "East Quoddy Lighthouse Revisited" stands on its own - it is a fine image assumingly shot just the way you wanted it. Had you wanted more detail in the foreground, you simply would have shot it at a different time of the day....Neil No response necessary.
