A fish perhaps? Or a hot chick=) wonderful capture! Usually I dont like when the object is centered in the picture, but sometimes it works and this is an example. Great job!
Perfect composition and great background Ruby. He just almost blends with those colors in the water so that he stays safe. The lighting is really nice on this as well. Very nice post and thanks for sharing him.
All the wonders you seek are within yourself. Always glad to see visitors at My Gallery and thanks for your continued kind words and constant support. Anita
I don't know how you did it -- these birds are so shy. And you caught him in mid-step, so he must have been in motion, but the focus is great -- the look in his eye is intriguing.
I've tried all summer to get one of these....and they always fly off afore I get too close....*perhaps, I need to use deodorant*!.....great shot and well done for the capture
This is one of the best captures of a heron I have ever seen. At least, it looks like a heron. I read in a photo magazine yesterday that when photographing animals, if you get anything in focus, make sure it's the eye. You got that done in fine fashion. Excellent.

Yes, the eye has it! And I'm sure his natural coloring was designed to escape detection. I'm so glad you shared this, Ruby .... it's a rare treat to see one so close! - Patty
Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel.

First of all... credit for capturing this difficult shot
Second...perfect lighting to create the mood.
Third...the bird is so clear against the busy backbground that you can see suc wonderful detail
And fourth...a perfect example of camoflage - isn't nature amazing?
I tried my best to get a photo of one of these about 2 weeks ago Ruby. As soon as I got too close for comfort, off it flew!!!. So I'm glad you've posted this. Excellent capture and beautiful surrounding to boot. Thanks .
Very nicely done, Ruby. These birds are difficult to photograph as they spend most of their time hiding in the reeds. You've got a good one here, and he's sharp as a tack. NIce job.............Neil
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.
