This is in honor of that wonderful bass-baritone William Warfield, whose rendition of the song "Ol' Man River" in the 1951 movie production of Show Boat, never fails to give me goose bumps & make me weep from the sheer beauty of his voice. A gift from above, to be sure. It's a dark & subtle gradient, I agree, so please take the time to view this full screen. Thanks !

Although I prefer just photography by all means, this image I find quite appealing if related to the singing, specifically. This is deep, dark and moody as only a beautiful singing voice may be.

Great job Lauren, When I seen it in the thumbs it looked a bit dull but full size? It`s in a different league. Amazing image. I have never heard of this song though as I am so young.

The voice echoes, surrounds, encompasses....full of life and warmth, calling out, surrounding, like birds in a flock, they are one together, but spread out and fly.

I love musicals too. There are certain moments and songs that also leave me tingling. I have been brought to tears by wonderful performances as well. I feel what you are trying to depict.
Great job!

A singing voice translated to a flame...how creative...and how successful! This has the song in my head now and this image really does suit it. What a good job you did!

Hi Lauren, my oh my, this image it flecked with the most harmonius colors ever! And when I look and dream of hearing this man's delivery of such classic and heart rendering music, I to feel much like you! It is forever memorable! Your fractals are, as I have said before, so very beautiful! Sometimes they take my breath away with your consistant presentation of such color and design! Very pretty, Sincerely, Marilyn

Hey Lauren...this one is a real sensual beauty...its' depth and darkness really draw you in, but rather than feeling cold and gloomy, the touches of glowing color add richness and warmth...a great song too and this image a fine tribute to the soulful voice that sang it...great job.:Pat.

hmm… kind of looks like a golden voice flowing out of a deep, horn of a voice… hmm… maybe I have taken abstract interpretation too far… ok, I'll go back to working in the real world now. nj lauren

I like the earth tones and all, but the picture doesn't mesh with your persona at all. I think you should go back to bright colors and happy designs. That is where the real you shines though.

I can't say that I'm getting an Ol Man River vibe (I'm not a huge fan of that song anyway) but I still consider this terrific work. It's an intriguing combination of earthy tones and celestial elements that really ignites my imagination. While I try to avoid objectifying abstract art, the piece really does resemble billions of firing neurons forming a single thought...or perhaps I should say it resembles what I'd imagine that incredible event to look like. Nice job!
