Shot this in Clifford Tower in York, England. There sure are a lot of stairs to climb throughout Scotland and England! My poor ole legs are used to elevators, lol! It was a bit challenging to capture the lighting of this one without blurring it too much since I refused to drag a tripod all over the UK, heh heh, but I finally got a shot I was pleased enough with :) Hope you like it too! Constructive criticism is as welcome as the compliments :) and thanks for either!

I like this. I missed out on going in the tower when I was in York.. more than once. So I am grateful you posted this, I love the way you captured the two different kinds of lighting. If you thought those castles had a lot of climbing, come here to Wales and have a hike lol. Cracking shot Lisa.

I feel closed in looking at this shot. Better get up those steps. Nice Capture Lisa from your vantage point. You gave me the feeling of what it was like where you were standing.

A tough subject/conditions Lisa. I like the comp, it gives a sense of what it's like wandering thru those kind of buildings. The blur is a problem at the largest size, less so on the smaller ones. I have a Gimp plugin that might work well on this kind of blur, let me have a fiddle, might be an email coming your way with a sharper version. Mikel.

I like your perspective on this one... the stairs is the only way to get out of there!
Great shot!

I really think that your composition is great because you knew how to share the natural light in the upside and the electric light in the other part. Yes it's true that there's a little bit of moving blur, but without a tripod in this kind of situation it's impossible to have sharpness. The large part of darkness in the left hand give to the stairs all its importance and its mystery. I think that it's a success Lisa. Well done.

yes you are right Lisa - spiral staircases everywhere in these old buildings - quite spooky too some of them are too - looks a bit dark in that room you are in! I can feel the chill! lol! good capture - now get out of there, it is haunted!

One of those places where you can't help letting your imagination run away with you, thinking about what's happened here before. There is a bit of blur, but it's hard to avoid in low light without a tripod. Very atmospheric shot.

a bit of a blur for sure, but its like looking through a window at the past, if only they could talk!
