Found a few shots I took from my many train rides during my visit to the UK. They're not perfect but I thought they might be worth a post :) This was taken in Scotland somewhere between Inverness and Edinburgh. It rained most of the way but I was very entertained by the insane but fun and musical guys that decided to have their morning beer at my table, lol! But I managed to get a couple of scenery shots out the window :D I had to do a lot of editing to this one to make it presentable enough. It was originally very bright but dull with little contrast and smudges on the window but maybe I did okay :) I hope you don't mind if I say thanks for comments and critiques here, it's been a very trying and difficult week, but all are very appreciated :) 'Lisa

The contrast of light and dark is really good. It almost looks like snow on the ground, but I expect it is water. I like the mistiness of the scene. You did a fine job.

Hey Lisa, this one is "painterly", plenty of detail without need for sharpness, great balance of dark and light in the comp, I never would have thought a shot thru a train window could be this beautiful. (Mine for sure as hell aren't. :) ) Great job.

wow beautiful Lisa! I often take shots when I am a passenger in the car and some of them turn out great - you captured a wonderful atmosphere and also a glimpse of the beauty of Scotland! ....love the blueness!

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced. COME ON YOU GREENS, UP THE ARGYLE.....

Well, nothing is more difficult than having light and shadows on the same image, because if you focal the shadows the light will be overexposed and inversely. So you must rework it, and what you've done here is great, even though I think it's a little bit too dark, but it gives to your image a strange atmosphere that I really enjoy.

Really gives an impression of the sheer scale of the landscape Lisa, you did great with the exposure here too. Not an easy one.

Hello Lisa....So you did make it to Scotland...Not very easy to take pictures through a window and being on the move at the same time....Are these snowed mountains anywhere near a place called Aviemore?....Thankyou for the effort you put into this one....All the best....Mick.
