You will find increasingly more complex patterns the farther you zoom into the mandelbrot set.

One trick to finding cool location in the set is to look right on the border of the black area and then zoom in a whole lot.

Amazing how putting the focal point in on the the corners, especially the bottom one gives the audience a breathtaking feeling like being up in the air. Breathtaking work there.

Extremely buisy image for a desktop, but I like looking for that self-similar property of the mandelbrot formula. The colors sort of drive me away, but neat to look at for a little bit.

fractint or something else? I can see how this one could be, so I'm curious if it is. Although somebody asked about the phc method, I assume that's not relevant here.

Nice work. I can tell this made a real impression at the time, though now it wouldn't strike people as especially interesting without that context. (Hope this is OK to say, but things have changed so much... even though I've never used any of the programmes most people now generate with... even fractint has changed, I suspect, since this. Not sure when this was, though...)
