"Men went inside.
Some have died.
Some chose to stay.
Others walked away.
Storms passed by.
Friends dropped by.
Strangers went in,
because of their sins.
I will be here
for who knows how long.
To witness these men
repent their wrongs.
No money can worth
being right here;
observing rebirth
throughout these years."
This photo was taken in Iwahig Prison in Palawan, Philippines. Convicts from around the country are sent here. The place is a large area (farm, mountain, rivers) where the prisoners are free to roam. They work as farmers. Some work in souvenir shops. Some choose to live in the area even when their sentence is over. Some started a family in the prison.
