Some creative food for thought ... with respect to the posturing of your 'model' ...
Perhaps, completely faceless might work better? (One possibility.)
As in, looking straight ahead, referencing camera position still ... or more so ... directly behind.
However ... camera coming around to the right ... allowing for your model to be looking ahead or towards one of the peaks, as opposed to off to one side as presented to us..

Nathan, I found your picture very interesting. I always try to view pictures as the artist who presents it. However, I did also find Les's comments very interesting as well. The head placement, per Les's observation, I believe, would add a stronger dramatic effect. But, if I had not read about it, I would have still been sold on your presentation as is. You did a wonderful job with it.
The many shades of bloo(blue) are just magnificent. The photo makes me just want to sit here and pretend I am seeing this view also. I can just imagine sitting on that sand and breathing in the quiet. I like how the man in this photo is looking toward one side, as tho he begins there with his eyes and he will scan the whole scene til his face and eyes go all the way to the right side view too. I like the feeling very much. Drama in a soft way. Very lovely. Verena
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly, like a millionaire intent on going broke
Edit: Nice shot ... and concept. :o)
