Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. On a cold morning, with mist on the river, fog lifting, sun and clouds in the sky, it's the start of a beautiful day. Enjoy! Critique welcomed.

What a way to start the day Thad.
Really great reflections of the clouds and pilings. And some nice foreshore detail on the right too.

Great old pier with the ropes still in place in the river. I really adore the clouds in the sky that appear to be racing along with the river...good going Thad!

Thad...

What! No link to Cat Stevens' song? This one is a beauty. I can't find anything wrong. Looks like a perfect place and time for a swim. LOL.

Hello Thad...You certainly have captured early morning stillness in this very nice photograph....I am interested to know what the poles in the water are used for....Well done....All the best to you Thad......................Mick.

Think about the photo before and after, never during. The secret is to take your time. You mustn't go too fast. The subject must forget about you. Then, however, you must be very quick. Henri Cartier-Bresson

A delight to view Thad. The reflection is made more intereting byt the post being not straight.
A real air of early morning calm pervades this image.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Just an all-around gorgeous photo, Thad. The soft, early morning light and the mist rising off the still water create a nice sense of peace and quiet before the world wakes up. I like the old pilings poking out of the water, as well.

Got this in the VB, loved it, had to come by and say so. The smoothness of the image is great, a lovely tranquil quality going on. The off centred pole helps to break the squareness of having the horizon line at the midpoint and that pole has great power in the overall image. The angle/lines of the clouds in sky and reflection also balance that central horizon line and give an amazing feeling of zooming "into" the image as you look at it. A great example of how a basic rule (In this case horizon lines and the rule of thirds.) can be transcended completely. Sweet work Thad. Faved.
