Cromwell, Connecticut, USA - River Highlands State Park. In late November, following a trail along a small brook to the Connecticut River, we were in a small gorge that was about twenty feet deep that we nicknamed the Grand Canyon of Cromwell (lol). WIth the late afternoon sunlight, the trees above the gorge contrasted well against the deep blue sky. Enjoy!

Great perspective and wonderful deep blue of the sky, Thad. A pine tree among leaveless trees is very good idea in your composition. Lighting is beautiful with late afternoon sunlights.

That November sky is so wonderful and provides a great background for the tangle of branches from down in the canyon.

Ya they do contrast very well. Its still a little hard getting used to leafless trees but when they have that kind of backdrop who care! Great shot!

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.

One of the better shots of this type that I have seen Thad. I like the dark colors.

Love the deep blue sky and perspective of this shot. Everything seems so well balanced, and the trees fill the entire frame without making the shot look too cluttered. Nice work, Thad!

Wonderful contrast. Somehow the lighting and colors create a rather somber and awe inspiring atmosphere. Looking at the trees looming above, I feel rather small and insignificant. Quite a scene you've captured.
