Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. Looking south, ice and snow has filled the Connecticut River. The foreground brush sits atop brownstone remnants of a pier, harkening to the 1700s and 1800s, when trade ships traveled the eastern coast of the US and the Caribbean. Enjoy!

It's amazing to see the mighty Connecticut River frozen over like this. Looks like there's been a lot of foot traffic on the river too. The bridge looks really good in silhouette. I bet that brownstone came from E. Longmeadow, MA. That's where a great deal of the brownstone buildings of NY and Boston got their stone and their name.

We are having about +7° right now and I am really enjoying it when I look at this image, Thad. All the same this is a lovely scene with the bridge and the blue sky as backdrop.

Man! that looks like really rough chunky ice no good for ice skating that's for sure. The curved bridge over the river makes a really wonderful center focal point to this photo Thad!

I know it has to be cold when a moving river freezes. Great composition Thad. Thad bridge along with the ice makes for a great capture.

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.

I love that bridge. It spans a pretty choppy, and icy river. Make for some very bumpy ice skating. LOL. Well done, Thad.

An amazing shot, Thad! All that ice on the river is fascinating, and I love the view of the river bridge and the town looking downriver. I also like that blue sky and the blue-tinted hills in the background. Well done!

Wow! Is this how rivers freeze? All chunky? Our rivers don't freeze much here...our lakes do...enough to ice fish...but not our rivers....very interesting to see this! Sure looks cold!
