Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. From the bin. This butterfly, seen in a recent posting, barely finished posing for that shot when it had to stay its ground guarding the flower from the incoming bee. Enjoy!

Maybe he didn't see the bee coming because he was so absorbed in absorbing the nectar of the lovely butterfly bush, which bears his name. It isn't bee balm after all. Lovely shot, Thad.

Butterfly made b-line to flower and won Thad. It looks like we are at eye level. Good post.

That's funny how the two of them would fight over a flower. Like there aren't any more flowers to keep each other happy. A beautiful photo.

You have some fine color on both the butterfly and Lilac , if that is what it is. I like this angle..

Another excellent shot of the Monarch, Thad. I wish I would see them somewhere other than in captivity.

Nice capture, Thad. It seems your 'artists' wait for their turns, for you to take their shots. :)

I have some photos where butterfly and bee happily feed on the same flower. Nice clear shot Thad.

Another beautifully-composed and very colorful shot, Thad! Great depth-of-field, and the appearance of the bee adds a wee bit of insect-sized drama to the image. Great shot!

That must be one of them stealth bees buzzing the landing strip Thad. An interesting closeup of the butterfly and flower. I like the angle of the shot and composition. Good lighting and a nice dof.
