Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. A narcissus in the front garden by the house is ready to burst into bloom - but cold weather has it in a holding pattern. It is sunny, however. I spent some time in the gardens today and saw lots of perennials beginning to emerge from the long winter's hibernation. Enjoy! Honest critique is encouraged.

I think this looks well balanced and beautiful! Love the background color, it really brings out the look of the about to bloom narcissus. Looks great!

I can't find much to fault you with in this photo Thad. I could get nit-picky about it, but that don't help, much. I like the graduated colour of the background that provides a good contrast to the colours of the flower and stem. Nice clarity in your shot and good details.

Great close-up with an unusual color of background. A fine example of 'simple and beautiful' shots, the photograpy style I like very much. Very goood composition and lighting.

A different background color Thad. It works well with this shot. Reminds me of Georgia Clay.

Maybe I am rushing the seasons, I hate winter and cannot wait for it to end, so my first thought of your lovely flower was, hummm, sand wedge or putter?

Like mentioned above, fantastic detail and clarity. Well done, Thad.

((save this shot and add a budding white dandylion to complete my golf fantasy, lol))

Very good detail in this and as most have said the background is very complimentary - on my screen it's a brick/rust color.

We have some already Thad - but from the shop! Spring is beginning to raise its head here too. Nice shot of the daffodil bud.

Excellent isolated and dof. Is that cedar mulch creating the red background?

Very nice. The single bud is quite elegant looking. The soft background certainly sets it off.
