Denali National Park, Alaska, USA. Denali, known as Mt. McKinley to those of us that may classify as elders, as seen about thirty miles away. The name, Denali, neams 'the great one' or 'the high one' in the Athabaskan language, that of the Native Americans who lived in the area. It is hard to imagine the scale of the scenery in Denali National Park. This is the tallest mountain in North America at 20,320 feet (6,194 m). A mountain with twin peaks, the south peak (on the left) is the taller. The space between the peaks measures two miles. So large that it can create its own weather systems, it is rare that it shows itself clearly; thus far this summer, it has been clear only on four days. We had the incredible fortune to see it for two of them. I hope you enjoy the image as much as I did seeing it in person.
