Denali National Park, Alaska, USA. Hopefully, the photo depicts just how steep is this rock outcropping on which the dall sheep jumped about noshing on grass. Enjoy!

Very nice Thad how you capture the dall sheep among the craggy rock face and so well centered!

A great photo. That's a goat who has a fantastic view when out eating out.

Great textures captured as well as the sheep - reminds me of an Ibex.

Nice textures in the rock face and colours in the scene. An interesting photo of the sure-footed sheep.

Enjoyed your goat and moose posts today Thad. Both are so well done.
I will be taking a leave of absence so won't be commenting or posting.
Take care.

I've often thought it would be fun to reincarnate as one of these gravity-defying goats... just kidding, I'm too scared of heights... ;-) Great capture here, and, yes, it does look really really steep.

With my background in civil engineering, Thad, I'm guess that the cliff face is pretty close to 90°, or if you were standing on your head, 270°. You've indicated that blue skies were rare in previous posts, yet this looks like yet another sunny day in Alaska. From the angle of the shot it appears that you are slightly above this fellow; so to make me feel better I'll assume that you climbed a neighboring peak just to get this shot. Once again a "Hey, You" might have turned this guy around. Then again, it also might have spooked him and forced your compatriots to toss you over the edge.

Another beauty of a shot. Except for the ex-governor, Mother Nature seems to have been very kind to the is state.

Looks like there is plenty of grasses below, he just must like the challenge of the climb. Great shot.

cool textures on the rock, makes you wonder how the hell that goat got up there in the first place, and why!

This is just a great all around capture Thad. Not only is the mountain sheep beautiful but you brought out all the coloring in the rock as well and yes I can definatly tell how steep that cliff is.
